Jeffares Group at the University of York
Population, evolutionary genomics and genomic epidemiology
The website is under construction. Our previous website is here.
What we do
We seek to understand the interaction between evolutionary processes, demographic change and molecular biology.
We use tools from molecular evolution, population genetics/genomics and quantitative genetics.
Our main focus
Leishmania genomics, population genetics and quantitative genetics.
We were part of the UK:Brazil Joint Centre Partnership in leishmaniasis. #JCPiLeish, and we work with the PREV_PDKL multidimensional phenotypic analysis ofvisceral Leishmaniasis in Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda and Kenya.
Our latest papers
Daniel Jeffares is the LGBTQ+ staff rep for the Biology Equality and Diversity Group (BioEDG). Get in touch with me via email (daniel.jeffares@york.ac.uk) if you have any comments/concerns that relate to LGBTQ+ communities, ethics or inclusion.
Location
We are based in the Department of Biology at The Universty of York(UK). York is a research-intensive Russell Group University. York ranked in the top 10 in the UK for the quality of its research in the Times Higher Education (THE) Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021.
